Hope many of you take advantage of something like this. Some of my best IL memories were hanging out with my fellow bunnies. Pyratis, Atmos, Tanili, Rastin, Ticona, Pargira, Growlies, Nchantur, Stylx, Uelr, Archangyl, Sarlain, Pullaton, Althea, Athekin, Apyro, Desolator, Andy (god I can't remember his warrior's name), Vashtoril and a couple others!

You would be amazed on how well you will get along. It's just like old high school friends

Over in the IL forum there is a post where Raptor was feeling out doing a guild cruise. You might want to throw your comments down on that too. Post is here: http://www.iratus-lepus.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=888&highlight=cruise

I never went but at least once there was enough attending fan fares to get a guild table there too I believe.

Shigai and I are seriously considering going to the next SOE Fan Faire since we had such a good time at this years Comic-con and PAX. IMO these types of events make meeting easier, and you know, if you find anyone lame or annoying, you could always break off and go do something else without feeling obligated to stick around in the awkwardness. lol

Whaaa??? You mean the thought of a bunch of socially awkward, sweaty, nerds jam-packed into one place doesn't appeal to you?

Jade Dragon and Val'Kori both had reunions in Las Vegas. its a great center for people to go and do their own thing and come together for events. We all hit the Excaliber for the joisting event while there last time.

The tournament of Kings. i've seen it before i loved it. i went on a vegas vacation in 2004 and i remember it was hot a hell out there. fat people down here in the south "mainly referring to my ex-wife" often complain it's the humid heat that'll get you down here. ah hell go out west were it's 115 during the day and dry as a bone. your skin will dry up, you'll wake up with a dry mouth, thirsty all the time, ect. im glad i dont live in a hellish environment like arizona or nevada. But vegas is a nice town to visit

No infact it sounds like a place where I wouldnt fit in as I am not a nerd at all (Yes i got A's and B's in school) but i am not one i grew up on dirtbikes quads surfboards bikes and skateboards the last thing i thought i would be doing is playing a computer game. I play EQ because i watched my best friends play and you can sk them what i told them i will never play it well I got to Brunswick, Maine (hell's hell) and got a computer and started paying because I was so bored. So i play nd dont do any of the dress up or even really go in depth with the game...

I don't know, thousands of people that play the same game you like playing creates an instant bonding. Fan Faire is good but a cruise would be more intimate. Package deals could keep it around $500 each for a week doing the Mexican Riviera cruise. Need to do up some IL T-shirts and drive the rest of the ship nuts. Should be a kick as long as we don't aggro the locals in the ports of call.

You don't dress up? WTF? I put on all my leather gear and make Ikssssssahhhh noises every time I play my monk. You don't? WTF is wrong with you? How can you play this game and not get so involved that can't tell reality from virtual reality?

I'm not sure you are seeing it Aztun, but you are insulting everyone with your comments. If people want to get together and have a few drinks why do you care? I played football, hockey, wrestled and all the other things you mentioned, so what? I play this game becasue I like it. You are apparently ashamed of yourself for playing it. No reason to insult everyone that isn't ashamed to play it.

Funniest thing is that this is the kind of person I wouldn't want to be in the same place as a hundred of.

A close setting is great, yeah, but it provides no escape. I like the idea of being able to leave when I want, or when I don't get along with someone (this happens often). I'd be down for a backyard gathering, but I agree completely with Az, I wouldn't travel across states to do it.

Fan Faire is the best idea because everyone travels to a destination spot, and I have to remind you, that Fan Faire is just a small piece of Vegas. We'd more or less be travelling to Vegas to hang out, which would be ideal. We could have fun, party, go our own ways when we wanted, and it would prevent anyone underage from coming.

A 7 day cruise from New Orleans or Galveston to the western Carribean would be more central to everybody than something leaving from the west coast. Cruises have stuff going on constantly 24/7 so nobody would have an excuse to be bored and with most having over 2000 passengers everybody could go off on there own when ever they wanted. I think it would be a lot of fun.

not only that but cruise ships often have a topless deck. hell yah we can go see some nipples after hanging out and having a few drinks. i vote for a IL cruise gathering, i love the carribean and i like boobs. thats a good reason why i married who i did she's got some monster tits

I agree. I met Bruethor at a Fan Fair years ago in Atlanta, along with several other old school IL folks - none seemed geeky to me. You'd be surprised how NOT geeky people who play EQ are in many cases. My other hobby is racing sportbikes on tracks all over the country. Sounds geeky, right?

This idea is a great one for those who can afford it. This is about friendships/relationships. It doesn't have to be an awkward thing at all. I have put together these types of events. You can do regional stuff where "people in the area" get together - which can be less costly. If you do a national thing, you want to make it as central as possible while still allowing you all to do your own thing. Vegas isn't central, but has plenty to do.

What about Our Own lil Ren Fair? Or, What might the Great Missisippi River hold along it's banks that we could use? After all,, it's the most Centralized icon we have, And it's only like 5 hrs straight W on I40 for me. I dunno,,, BUT!-- Get a definitive decision about holding an event and we can do "Where" Later. I get a "Yay" on that and I'll start putting $$ aside in hopes. Firstly we need to know a Number of Whom, Soooo Tell ya what. If you would like to do something, and can Answer "Yes" to the question of " To do, or not to do" Send me an Ingame Email and I'll start coordinating the numbers of potential. :),, Ps I'll be watching this thread often.,, Oh Yea,, and 2nd P.S. Lol No I don't work at a Florist, lol The Holidays are filled with peeps tryin to get married, have lil parties, and Whatnot. This is where I work: http://www.gibsongoodies.com/. Lol Far from a Florist, hehe
